The Escape
In Development
Synopsis
In 1938, filmmaker Marlo Poras’ grandmother fled Austria as a stateless, penniless Jewish refugee. Over 80 years later, Austria offers Marlo the chance to “reclaim” her grandmother’s citizenship for herself—which sets Marlo on an unexpected journey to unearth long-lost family history and to see whether restitution is possible without a reckoning.
